Is it okay if you get LOR from your 9th grade teacher?
Answered

My 9th grade teacher knows me very well, and will write a good letter of recommendation. However, I know that it is recommended to get a LOR from either your junior/senior year teacher.

Do colleges really check if it's a teacher from freshman year or like whether you had any classes with them?

Not necessarily. Most colleges and universities look at the overall letter and what it says, more than who it's from. They want to hear more about your academic standing and how prepared you are for college. I would definitely look into possibly getting another recommendation from a junior/senior year teacher because they would have the most knowledge about you and how prepared you are, compared to a freshman year teacher.
