More questions about increasing the rigor of my curriculum

Hello, everyone. After the ED round, I revised my application and realize there indeed could be some issues with the rigors of the curriculum. I heard there is an online university called www.outlier.org. I looked into the website and found it super cool. They offer a program that involves a 7-week completion of college courses.

I still struggle to find a usable or modern platform to take AP courses online. Is it even better to substitute AP courses with this College program(They say the courses are from the Uni of Pittsburgh)? Instinctively I feel it could be way better. So again is it really better to add college courses on my transcript instead of AP courses? All online AP courses are too expensive or are adopting some horrifying grading system.

I kind of heard from reports that the AP program is actually a gigantic resource of money for those educational agencies. And wouldn't it be better to take real college courses than to take those hybrid courses(which are APs)?

Also, if I start to take the courses in January and finish them in 7 weeks. Will it be too late to submit my college transcript to universities then? Thanks so much!

Oh my gosh. The design of the outlier website is really beau-ti-ful and impactful. Compared to other outdated platforms, this website feels like it is from the 22nd century. Guys, this feels like a new era of education. I predict this kind of education will go booming. Will this be the next bitcoin? This website looks absolutely awesome.

Hi @Jai123456!

In terms of weighted GPA, AP and dual enrollment classes are considered equivalent. Since courses on outlier.org are college courses, they are considered just like dual enrollment. For applications, one of them is not necessarily better than the other. If you feel taking college courses on Outlier is more convenient than AP, by all means, go ahead and take them.

Starting a 7-week course in Jan means that you'll be completing it towards the end of Feb. Most regular decisions come out in March/early April, so depending on your college, you might still be able to submit your transcript. Just make sure to submit it well before the date of the decision.

Hope this helps!
