I'm a high school junior with an interest in politics/government/public policy etc. and found St. Albans School of Public Service. This is of course a minor consideration, but I was curious if it's more of a pay-to-play program, or one that would be looked upon favorably by college admissions? It's $6300 for 4 weeks boarding.
The St. Albans School of Public Service is a decently prestigious program, run by one of the most prestigious high schools in the US. Part of what makes it prestigious is not just the school's name, but also the fact that the program offers need-based financial aid.
Colleges look very favorably upon programs that have a scholarship fund or are completely free, so SPS is not seen as pay-to-play. I highly recommend applying for financial aid if you apply to the program, and make note of it in your application if you receive any financial aid award.
Hope this helps!
