Quality or Quantity? AP Classes
Answered

Just a little question I came up with since my senior schedule is getting finalized soon.

Would it be better to aim for a large number of AP courses, or should I shoot for quality? I've been pondering this for a bit, as I would be taking three or four AP classes in total for my high school record. I'm doing well, I'm just looking for a statistical standing.

Quality is better if you know you won't be able to handle a ton of AP classes. It's better to get a really good grade in a fewer AP classes than to take 8 AP classes and get C or something. However, if you feel that you can handle the class loads and know for a fact that you can get an A in your AP classes, go for it. Remember that these APs can really disrupt GPA, for better or worse.

Colleges don't want to see that you took multiple AP classes and only managed to earn a low B or C. They would much rather see that you took fewer AP classes but managed to do really well in them. Even if you take fewer AP classes, you still took them and colleges see that you are taking advantage of the resources given to you.

Hope this helps
