Hi! I'm a high school freshman. I am interested in the medicine field and I want to go to any highly ranked and prestigious college for Pre-Med. I have a 4.0 UW/5.0 Weighted GPA and I am taking 1 AP and 6 Honors classes. I'm not in any school clubs but I play water polo and swim for my high school team. I have also been in youth group since 2nd grade, play piano ABRSM grade 6 outside of school, and participate in my school's advanced band as well as in elementary school. My school doesn't do class rank. Based on the information listed, I really think I need to participate in more clubs for school and would like help looking for school clubs to join. I was thinking about joining my school's HOSA chapter, Science Olympiad, Math Club For Mentoring Young Girls, Dance Club, Classical Piano Club, or Medical Club for next school year. I'm not planning to do all but those are some suggestions I had in mind. I also really want to start a club based on interests in music/arts or medicine and was wondering what clubs I should join/create because I feel like my school has many clubs already. I also want to do some summer activities. I know it's a little late for most summer programs applications but if anyone can find any free summer activities for a 14 year old in Illinois (mainly Chicago area/suburbs), that'd be great. I'm really interested in looking in medical opportunities such as internships, shadowing opportunities, volunteering positions, research programs, summer programs, part-time jobs, or anything medical related. I also want to look into doing any music related programs or anything else if available. Thank you to anyone who can help!
It seems like you're in a great position already and there isn't much more I can think to add other than what you've listed! My personal advice would be to focus on obtaining leadership positions in every club/organization you join. I'd also recommend keeping the focus of your extracurriculars on the medical field. I'd also say to look into job shadowing and volunteering when you're in 9th and 10th grade, and then go for internships and possibly medical-related part time jobs in 11th and 12th. Research is a really great thing to get into and get a head start on if you're able to. Other than that, I think you have a pretty good plan worked out for yourself and I wish you the best!

Depending on your state laws, you may be able to become a Junior EMT/first responder and get some experience in the field, both hands-on and visually.
