Rec Letters

Is it okay if I don't get a letter of rec from a STEM teacher at my school if I am going into the business field.

Hi @Swayam_Jain17!

It looks like you don't have any STEM teacher who knows you well enough. Since you're going into business, it might be a good idea to have a letter of rec from a math teacher, but if not, that should also be fine. Remember: quality > quantity.

Hope this helps!

Yes, you want your letters of recommendation to be from teachers that know you well. It would be better to have an outstanding rec letter from a STEM teacher that knows you well than have a generic rec letter from a business teacher that doesn't know you very well. The purpose of a rec letter is to demonstrate to colleges what you are like in the classroom and what you are like as a student from a teacher or mentor's perspective.
