I won 4th place out of 104 entries in a STEM research proposal competition. Is that worth putting on college apps?

A competition that is part of a larger club or organization, or that spans a significant amount of time (say, a month) would not go in the awards and honors portion of the Common Application, but a competition that stands on its own would.

By itself no if it is part of a club or organization or if it was a significant competition such as a month long event with deadlines but if it was a stand alone competition I’d put it in the awards and honors section of common app.

Hope this helps and comment if you need clarification.
