Would the Purdue School of Business be considered a safety school for me if they have an acceptance rate of 47% and there average GPA is 3.37 but mine is 3.83?
I would say that first there are extra questions to be considered, such as degree program or intention in that idea for it to be a safety school. (And by safety I'm assuming you're meaning a backup school if your first choices fall through). Since its important that it has the degree you're looking for and not just something close to it (unless that's okay with you). I think, personally, that it could be a fine safety school as I was looking at their rankings and they received rewards such as:
Poets & Quants (2021)
#14 - Best Return on Investment for Undergraduate Business Programs
#24 - Best Business Schools Where Students Get Their Desired Jobs
MastersInDataScience.org (2019)
#8 – Master’s in Business Analytics (U.S.)
College Choice (2020)
#6 – MS in Human Resources (U.S.)
BestColleges.com (2019)
#3 – Online MS Economics Program
Affordable Colleges Online (2019)
#3 – Online MS Economics Program
OnlineU.org (2019)
#5 – MS in Economics
OnlineMasters.com (2019)
#5 – MS in Economics
And that's just some of the rankings it has ( You can look up more and more areas it covers here if you'd like: https://business.purdue.edu/news/rankings.php).
With an acceptance rate right now in 2023 being marked at 56% it is a relatively safe bet that this could easily be a backup 'relatively sure thing' with Purdue due to your GPA. So I'd say, in my own personal opinion, the answer is yes!
