Will using a system specific application show interest?
Answered

A school I’m looking at has its own application and is on common and coalition. I know the application are the same but is there any boost to the intangibles such as demonstrated interest? (The school I’m looking at tracks interests hypothetically)

I don't think using their application as opposed to the Common App will really show demonstrated interest. Many colleges have expressed that almost all of their applicants use the Common App to submit with a handful using their application; they also say it doesn't matter to them. No college I know have point blank stated that using their application shows demonstrated interest. That being said, submitting to one application portal and not the other doesn't make a difference. Plus, there are other ways to show interest in the school. However, I would email your admissions counselor at the school just to be sure.
