How long can my expanded resume be?

For schools like UT Austin that want to see your expanded resume, how long should it be? I've heard that you should never have over a page for a resume, but is that only true regarding jobs or college as well? In that case, I've tried to fit my top 3 ECs on my resume, but it still kind of looks squished on one page. What should I do? Put all my EC's if I might as well have 2 pages bc I can't even fit my top 3 or just stick with top 3 and squish it on the first page or have top 3 and expand it to the very top of the second page? Thanks in advance for reading all of this :)

Resumes are very brief and should never be more than 1 1/2 pages. It’s fine if it’s not 1 page. As for a CV put as much on it as possible that details your life.

Hope this helps and please comment if you need clarification as I’d be happy to help clarify!
