Admissions Advice

How can I answer the question: What item would you bring to (university) that represents you or your community and why?

I understand that the answer must be creative to showcase my surroundings and connect it with myself. But the only things that come to mind are traditional things from my country but those don't represent me.

So I presume you are an international student. Pick an item that is native to your country/area or is a symbol of said country like tea for UK. Think of your favorite thing wether it’s a game good food or literally any noun will work. If you pick tea as a British student you can talk about how it represents you and your country and then transition into a personal insight part like talking how tea breaks help you relax but make sure to talk about your self not just write anecdotes.

To see how to tie in parts about your self in a obscure/wierd topic look at John Hopkins essays that work specifically the potato one.

Hope this helps and please comment if you need clarification as I’d be happy to help clarify!
