I got suspended in freshman yr for 1 day for fighint, this was my only disciplinary action and all of my other grades and extracirriculars are solid. How will this affect me and has anyone gotten into a good college w a similar situation?
I wouldn't worry too much, but be prepared to give an explanation for the incident and how you've changed since.
The real answer is that it depends on the college and the admissions officers. If you have a truly impressive application, your chances of getting in will obviously be better. Since this was your only disciplinary action, and it was your freshman year, it will probably be fine. Some high schools don't even report disciplinary actions, but some do, so check with your counselor about that. But either way (depending on what colleges you apply to), you still have a good chance of getting into college if you're application is strong.
Pretty sure disciplinary infractions for violence are frowned upon
