I'm a chemE major who just got into CMU, UCLA, and GaTech. I'm in-state for UCLA, which means it's a lot cheaper, but GaTech and CMU have better engineering programs. Cost is not a huge factor for me, and I don't care too much about the social scene either. Also, I really want to do undergraduate research and would prefer to go to a college where those opportunities are accessible for underclassmen. Are there any specific reasons that would make you recommend one over the others?
Thanks in advance!
If price isn't a factor that is incredibly important to you, my suggestion would be CMU. You may find that out-of-state student fees cause Georgia Tech to be no cheaper than tuition at CMU (who, as a private university, probably does not change tuition rates based off state residency). CMU has the biggest reputation out of all three of your other acceptances for research, and probably has the most resources guaranteeing those research opportunities being there for undergrads.
