college essay

HI! I got my college essay reviewed on Collegevine. I was really happy about the positive feedback and criticisms. However (according to the reviewer) my essay belongs in the "bottom 41%" of essays apparently. I understand that each reviewers has their opinions but their feedback truly did not correlate to their rating of my essay. Prior to my submsission on collegevine, I shared my essay with college students who were quite delighted with my essay. I really don't know if I should really be concerned about it though. Please let me know your thoughts!

You have to remember that when it comes to reviewing essays, no two people are the same. You seriously don't need to feel put down by somebody else's opinion. What I recommend, however, is that you follow some of their tips and resubmit your essay. The more people that review your essay, the broader and better the ideas that you receive will be. You did good in having your college friends review it, but College Vine has the extra charm of anonymity, and therefore, substantially less bias.
