"Held Back" Effect Admission Chances?
Answered

I moved to the States from a country that doesn't speak English. So my parents put me back a grade before I started school here. I am a rising junior but was born in the winter of 2006 (I should be a senior right now).

Would schools see how old I am or notice I was put back a grade? And if so, even if it wasn't because I failed, would that negatively affect me?

You should explain this in the "Additional Information" section of your application, and maybe get your counselor to mention it in their LOR! I doubt it'll have any effects on your chances of admission.
