What can I do to stand out?

Hi!! I’m a rising senior and I need help. What can I do to make myself stand out?? For the last 3 years of high school, I’ve had low academic rigor and a lower GPA due to going to a school that didn’t offer APs, transferring, and then having a very tight schedule (because I go to two schools). I took two dual enrollment courses last year and am taking two more this year along with my 1st AP. My test scores are also mediocre. Where should I apply and how do I tidy up my application?

Hey,

Don't worry bro! You've got a year to prove yourself and we believe in you! Just remember that colleges do not only look at grades (although you should probably check the Common Data Set for the colleges you apply to) but also look at your essays and extracurriculars. If you can, try retaking your tests and levelling up on your extracurriculars and essays to improve your chances on getting into college. Peer review your essays as much as possible!

I would try applying to mid-level universities that have your major/career interest. I can't really give an answer without any stats, but 1100-1300 SAT or the equivalent should be good for most colleges. A 2.5-3 GPA kinda restricts this, though. Try doing more research on colleges that have a 50%-60% acceptance rate at first, but apply to universities with all levels of acceptance to get your money's worth.
