Hi! I want to share my ecs to know if they're ivy-worthy. For reference, my top choice is Harvard (which is impossible, aha), my intended major is Poli Sci, and I am going into my sophomore year!! Please be brutally honest about what I can do to enhance them or stand out! 1. Founder and president of Laws for Paws LLC (501c3 charity I started in Jan of this year), have raised $20k for the distribution of dog boots to homeless pets, tend to over 300+ dogs monthly, provide rescue and rehabilitation to strays, expanded nationally within the first seven months. 2. I worked with legislatures to pass a bill against cosmetic animal testing during the last session; this year, I am testifying on behalf of the bill and proposing another bill to limit the ability to walk dogs in the heat without dog boots. 3. JV Tennis 23-24, hoping to make varsity this year, USTA player. 4. National Charity League 24-25 secretary, "Voices" Forum member, applied to the DEI Board. 5. Traveling to Africa next summer to participate in South African animal rehabilitation and conservation 6. I am a part-time manager at a local restaurant and a part-time worker at a franchise (I'm uncomfortable sharing names) :) 7. As of this year, I am president of the ethics club & Laws for Paws club at my school, so I don't know the member amounts yet!
8. Applying to Harvard Summer School for next July (their secondary school program)
9. I will participate in a law internship through a firm the summer after next summer. I also have accolades like the gold congressional award I am working towards, and I have a few accomplishments so far, like being featured in a top magazine in August! :) Please let me know how I can really stand out!
Hello, this is a highly impressive list for someone going into sophomore year. I can see you're very passionate about the well-being of pups and you have numerical values to back it up. The internship also shows interest in your major. I'm not sure how you shape up in other categories, but these commitments look "top-school" worthy.
Continue putting your energy into these endeavors and I think you'll be good. You can also look to see if there are any local/national competitions that go along with your goals. Maybe something like Prudential Emerging Visionaries? Remember to breathe and good luck!
Very impressive. I wouldn't worry too much. I'll just suggest you take more AP classes & exams for your intended major (if you haven't already), like AP gov and APUSH.
Make sure to write about your passion and achievements when it's time to write college essays.
Good luck!
