Common App awards
Answered

I currently have 4 of 5 awards. Trying to maximize the application, and I heard the honors section can be a great place to put in an honors society instead of taking up a space in the 10 activities. The only "honors" society I am part of as a homeschool student is NSHSS. Should I put that in honors unless something better comes up?

In my opinion, NSHSS could go in either honors or activities. Unless you already have your 10 activities ready, I don't think there is any harm in putting NSHSS as an activity. If you're planning on having something better come up, it might be better to decide where to put NSHSS when the other opportunity gets finalized. But for now, it's up to you to see if there's something else that would fit activities better than NSHSS to see where to put it or put NSHSS in honors if there's nothing else there by application finalization time.
