THIS IS NOT A "CHANCE-ME" POST MODS PLEASE DON'T FLAG ME
I recently logged onto CollegeVine after a month or so of not using it and I noticed my chances at top schools increased greatly without me changing my profile. For example, my chances at Barnard were about 27-30% but now they are 43%, and NYU increased from 28% to 47%. I used to have a handful of reach schools as well but when I logged on all of them were moved to hard targets, with my lowest percentage being STANFORD (WHAT??) at 30% (There's no way it increased that much).
The last time I checked my chances before now was early July. I decreased some of my stats as well and my chances still didn't lower to the original level. Does anyone know why this is? Did CollegeVine update their chancing? And if so, what did they change?
Thanks for reading and let me know what you think!
collegevine started counting the second digit of your GPA into account for colleges, so originally a 3.73 would be just a 3.7, but now it's fully counted. Also, I'm pretty sure they alter the chances after the start of each academic year as they get new data from people accepted or rejected from colleges (I'm not sure if this true or not but I think it is!)
