Hello I am a current sophomore who really wants to attend duke university and a biology and english major (mostly biology) and I want to get it right. I am going to center my application around how I want to be a pediatric surgeon (so a lot of work with kids). Can anyone tell me if I am on the right track and what I should do in the future to make my chances of acceptance higher?

Hi! I'm a senior also applying to Duke! My suggestions would be to try and get some more state and national level awards so you can really stand out. Try and have a lot of EC's to do with kids, maybe nannying or Day care work. I also think that more volunteer work could benefit you. Your class work looks good, very rigorous and as long as you make good grades and a good SAT/ACT then I think you have a high chance of getting in!
