Do I put my publications and creative writing teacher as "english" or "other" on the common app LOR?

I've had this teacher twice throughout high school, and I really want him to write me a letter. However, I'm not sure if I should list his class as an english class or just "other." He's my current publications teacher and he was my creative writing teacher in 10th grade. I don't know if it counts as an english course, but I know letters from core teachers weigh more, so what should I do??

Creative writing does count as an English class, but if he's also a publications teacher then I would suggest asking him if he considers himself as an English teacher, or as an arts/publications teacher. I think either way you'll be fine.

I would probably label him as an English teacher, as he does teach creative writing..
