Religion in college admissions

So as I come to the activities section on my common app essay I encountered a problem. Basically I spend 8 hours a week outside of school attending a religious program at my mosque. This requires a lot of work outside of school and is how my time is mostly spent. Is there a way I can fit this into my common app?

Are you asking about including it in your personal statement, or in your activities? For activities, absolutely! Anything you spent time doing other than your own schoolwork is considered an extracurricular, so that would be an amazing thing to add to help colleges understand what your commitments are, especially if you show leadership in this activity. If you meant for your essay, I think it would fall under the prompt "Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story". Hope this helps!
