Should I submit a 1500 to UPenn?
Answered

I have a 730 RW and a 770 math, which is exactly the end of their 25th - 75th percentile range so I’m still in the range, but nearly out of it. I have a good gpa, good ap scores, but I am not sure if submitting it would benefit me more than just going test optional since Penn has made it clear that not submitting a score doesn’t hurt your application. Thanks!

Are you applying for STEM or Humanities major? If STEM, your math is very high, submit! If humanities, 730 is on the lower end, just be aware.

Hi! That's an amazing score, congrats! From talking to admissions counselors, I'd say it's better to err on the side of caution, as not submitting a score doesn't hurt, but submitting a score lower or on the low side of their range could. If you're still not sure whether to submit it- reach out to them! I'd say either do it in person or on a phone call thought, not on an email as it's possible your email could be added to your file, and taken into account in your admission decision. Good luck! Hope this helps.
