How do I develop a spike?
Answered

I’m a 9th grader and I was wondering How can I find something to develop a spike in? My brother said I could be good at running, but I’m not sure if I’d like it. But I feel like if I don’t do it I’ll waste my “talent”. I’ve been writing some compute programs lately but that hasn’t picked up and I don’t believe I’ll ever make a tangible impact, I like doing it but my self doubt gets the better of me and I get unmotivated to do because I feel like I’m wasting my time. I spend so much time on my compute programs that I don’t have time for anything else. I don’t know what to do, and would really appreciate some advice.

Hey! First of all, you have sooo much time! Now, that's not to say that you shouldn't be thinking or doing anything about developing a "spike", but don't be too worried about it. Developing a spike would be one of the most painful things if you didn't enjoy doing it. People like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerwhatever, and Bill Gates loved what they did and that is why they became so good at it (along with being geniuses). All that to say, do what you love and if you truly love it, you'll become good at it and you'll want to do it more and more.
