Hey, I am a Sophmore and my GPA is not the best, I have not taken my ACT or SAT yet, what is the best way to increase my chances. I'm not that athletic so I don't have many Extra-curricular activities going for me. What can I do to increase my chances? I am trying to be a veterinarian.
If your school offers it, take SAT/ACT prep! This could potentially massively increase your test score. If your school offers it (or even your local ISD), join an agriculture-focused extracurricular like FFA or 4-H. This will improve your chances of getting accepted into a better college and look good on an application, as they both will teach you a lot about animals. For the GPA factor, take as many AP, IB, Honors, and Advanced courses as you can! Even a lower grade in the course (B as opposed to A) will show colleges that you are ready for college-level work and possibly improve your GPA.
Join clubs if you can, and consider joining a sport. If sports don't interest you then definitely go for clubs, especially those that focus on helping the community. Get the best grades you can and when the time comes, study for your SAT using khan academy. This can help get you scholarships and increase your scores as well. Take 5.0 classes over 4.9 if you can help it because this shows that you are willing to work hard and it helps boost your GPA. Hope this helps!
