Answered

Should I submit my weighted GPA (4.21) or unweighted GPA (3.95) to colleges? I am applying to NYU, Johns Hopkins, Duke Uni, etc.

Hello!

I'm a high school senior. Your weighted GPA considers the rigor of certain courses you took like AP or honors courses, so I suggest that you submit that GPA. However, your transcript will be sent to the colleges that you apply to and they can look at your unweighted grades if your transcript has it, and can calculate your GPA from there. I would still recommend submitting your weighted GPA because it gives a more accurate representation of how you performed in your classes. Hope this helps!

The common app specifically states that you should report your weighted GPA if your school has both UW and W GPAs. It shouldn't matter that much anyway because most colleges usually recalculate

your GPA their own way.
