I go to a selective dual-enrollment high school/early college. All classes in junior/senior year are college classes, and I will graduate with a Associate's degree and a HS diploma. For the "chancing" feature, how should I figure the classes from junior/senior year? Thanks
Where you can input the DE credit is just below the AP/IB classes and honors on the chancing profile. So the chancing engine should give a good ballpark estimate. I’d likely argue that how they are evaluated depends on a few factors.
Let’s say in State X you will do DE at CC X the biggest CC in the state. A lot of the DE worth is brought down by non-standerized and non transferable credit. If you transfer the credit to a instate school it has a much higher chance of being transferred then from coast to coast.
So in the case of Washington state all college courses are standerized so transfer isn’t an issue but try transferring New Hampshire CC credit to Washington. And you’ll have difficulty. But generally it ROUGHLY equates to an AP class assuming roughly same class period. Also college course may be 3hr so that doesn’t really equate to a AP class which is 1hr. (For example) refer time TLDR answer for the “equation” (for lack of better term)
TLDR; Depends but generally 1hr of DE = 1hr of AP.
