Would 1280 be a good score?
Answered

I recently took the PSAT as an 8th grader and got 1280 (640 on each section). Is this good progress for my age? Thank you in advance!

Excellent, keep up the good work. You really didn't need to pose this question because you have the printout from the college board and you already know you're like 98% on both which means that you only need to improve 1% over the next 3 years to qualify for the Merit Scholarship. Focus on your schoolwork, grades, take challenging classes, and find some meaningful ECs to work on. That is more important than test scores okay.

Yep, that is a great score for the PSAT. You are in a really good spot.

That's great for your age and place. Keep studying and you should be fine. With that as a real score you'd do very well in state schools, but Ivy's will want to see a little more.
