Admissions Advice

How should I include that I am an IB diploma candidate in my Common App?

My counselor has told me that he includes it in the secondary school report, but has also told me to include it on my end. Should it be in the activities section, the honors section, or somewhere else? Wherever I put it, how should it be described? Should I go over what I did for my CAS (volunteering for IB specifically) project and Extended Essay? I realize this can probably only be answered well by a fellow IB student, but any opinion helps!

I would say place it in both the activities and honors section because it is both. It should be described as coursework that prepares you for international opportunities. You should state what you did to be sure there is no confusion. I am not an IB student however I did some research on your behalf. I am happy to have helped.
