Admissions Advice

Should I apply musical theatre or music?

I have been doing musical theatre and commercials since I was 11, but I really want to apply to U of Miami for their Musicianship, Artistry Development, and Entrepreneurship bachelor and I'm not sure if I would have a better chance getting into their theatre BFA program and switching into music or applying directly to the music major.

If your strongest skill is with musical theatre, then the theatre BFA program could be right for you. On the other hand, if music is what interests you instead, then I recommend you start from the basic of what you already know. If you do that you should have a stronger bond with music. I am planning to make a YouTube channel with me trying to sing all these songs that are suggested. Also, recording your voice and listening to it can help with a stronger bond with theatre too.

In conclusion I might try and do both and see which one stands out to me.

I hope that helped. ^^
