Does it matter to not take rigorous classes?

I am in 11th grade and I would like to major in film and media/graphic design. I have a lot of ECs that relate to this passion such as participating in summer as well as school year application needed film programs. I also have short films and such that I have created. As for GPA I have a 3.8 unweighted, I have a few honors classes and AP classes, however, there are very few. I also take classes that are 1-2 years above my grade level. Would I have a less likely chance due to having not so great coursework or does it not matter as much since I want to have an art major? I've been stressing about this lately and would like some clarity to ease my anxiousness. Thanks.
