Internships
Answered

Hi!

I am a rising sophomore and was wondering on things I could do this or next summer? Does anybody have any experience/knowledge about some volunteering opportunities/medical or science related internships that would stand out to colleges or atleast just add on to my application for a 15 or 16 year old?

Thanks!

Hi!

I know that NASA has lots of different science internships for high schoolers so that can be a good place to start, especially because they are all free. I personally applied and got accepted into the SEES one for this summer as a rising senior and it will be my highest ranked extracurricular.

For volunteering, I would say that local opportunities are always best because they show how you have impacted your own community. So, try and ask around at your high school or at your local library or at another community center. I know that a lot of the clubs at my school share opportunities all the time, so maybe join your local HOSA or science honor society/club and they might have more local opportunities to share with you.
