Book Recommendation Short Response
List two books you have read recently that you would recommend to others. Describe what it is about each book specifically that warrants your recommendation. At least one of these should be a book that you have read outside of your required academic reading. (300 words or less for each description)

Read Plato’s Crito: http://www2.hawaii.edu/~freeman/courses/phil100/05.%20Crito.pdf. In response, write 1-2 double-spaced, typed pages in answer to ONE of the following questions. Answers should be based primarily on the Crito, but you should answer one of the questions above rather than simply restating a position in the text. Carefully consider the ideas and principles that Socrates discusses in the context of your chosen prompt. Please cite the text as appropriate using the line numbers and letters in the side margins (e.g. Crito 51a). In your essay, make note of which question you are responding to.

Does the law originate from God, the state, the people, or some combination thereof?
Option 2
In the American context, which is more unjust: violating the constitution to solve a social problem, or following the constitution even if it furthers a social problem? Why?
Option 3
Given the rights and duties of citizenship, must a citizen always follow the law? Why?
